Cuban Govt Not Entertained With Castro In Black Ops Game
The addition of former president of Cuba within the video game “Black Ops” resulted in a harsh rebuke from the Cuban government. The first level of the video game takes place during the Cuban Revolution, where players attempt to assassinate Fidel Castro. The video game was blasted as stimulating murder.
Fidel Castro mission causes controversy
Activision came out with “Call of Duty – Black Ops” where there is a Special Operations Group behind enemy lines that the players in the regular game mode go on missions within the Cold War era. The missions are part of a series of flashbacks, taking place in various areas, from Cuba to Vietnam and all points in between. The first mission is to assassinate Fidel Castro, throughout the Bay of Pigs invasion. The Cuban government is mad about the video game despite the fact that it is one of probably the most successful of all time, Reuters reports. As outlined by the Cuban government, the game “stimulates sociopathic attitudes” among young people. There is an additional reason why Cuban officials are upset. They say that the game is just too virtually doing what the U.S. “did not achieve in more than 50 years” of trying.
Castro in Secret level also
Players can battle legions of the undead in multiplayer. Kotaku explains that this is the “Black Ops” zombie’s option. Available characters are John F. Kennedy, Robert S. McNamara, Richard Nixon, and Fidel Castro. Cuba didn’t talk at all about how Fidel Castro was in the “Black Ops” multiplayer level. It is fair the Cuban government is offended by all of this though.
Record on the Family Jewels
”Family Jewels” was a record the Central Intelligence Agency released in 2007. There were reports on assassination. The tries were written on assassinating Fidel Castro too. Everything from an exploding cigar to poisoning Castro’s wetsuit were used by the U.S. government while contracting with organized crime. Cuba is still fairly soar about things even if “Call of Duty – Black Ops” is just a video game.
