How do I replace a stock car exhaust for a 1996 Chevy Blazer LS?
What will I need to buy? I need to know everything.
How long will it take before the car will be up and running?
If my friend knows how to replace the whole entire exhaust without half-assing it, is it possible to do without a lift outside on flat pavement?
If I buy a kit and take it to a professional how much will that cost approximately? And how long will it take?
A good shop will do it in about 3-4 hours, so figure about 150-200 on labor, plus parts. They often fabricate their own pipes out of stock, cuz its often cheaper and easier for them than a kit. id resist putting headers on if i had to ask this question, they are hard to seal with the engine in the vehicle. So if your looking to remove the cats and go headers back, id definately take it to the shop. If its just a cat back kit, all you really need is some wrenches, and maybe a saw to get the old cat back off. they come prefit, with all clamps and hardware. this should take an afternoon, without a lift. If you let your buddy do the whole thing, hes going to need some experience and a welder if he isnt “half’assing” it.
