A Closer Look At Holley Carburetor Identification
Holley Carburetors are one of the highly trusted products in range. These products are used by every NASCAR® Sprint® Cup team and NHRA® Pro-Stock champion for over 40 years. The company produces several types of carburetors including racing carburetors, marine carburetors, street performance carburetors and specialty carburetors. Holley provides an excellent facility to its customers in the form of interactive carburetor selector program so as to enable its customers buy the appropriate product for them. The performance of its products and service standards has made the company a trusted and one of the best brands for buying carburetors. However, most of the people find Holley Carburetor Identification difficult. It is because of the reason that there are several models available and each of them has a different code, which is stamped upon in a very fine manner. On reading these codes or part numbers, one can get all information about the type of carburetor he or she is using.
There are large number of product models are available in market and each of them possesses a different code on it. Holley carburetors and truck shop manuals have a specific code embedded on them, which help in their identification. Either a three-character or four-character date code is used, depending upon the date of production. It is called as “List Number”. This list number is engraved on different parts of carburetor according to model type. For example, in most of them, it is stamped into upper right corner of the choke tower. But in case of Model 4510 HP that does not have a choke tower, it is stamped into the main body. With the help of this list number, the carburetor is identified by the mechanic.
You can conduct Holley carburetor/1970 silverado pick up truck manual identification of your own by using this simple method. Using a degreaser and a wire brush, clean the sides of carburetor above choke tower. There you will find the part number, starting with “R” and followed by a code. You can refer this code or number with Holley Part Number Reference Guide and get all information about your carburetor. Even if you could not find access to this reference to guide, you can write to company’s Technical Support department and they will help you in Holley Carburetor Identification.
