First Year Anniversary Gifts -What to buy
Most couples are having a difficult time deciding what to buy for their first year anniversary gifts. This is because very few couples are familiar with the traditional first year traditional gifts. If you are out of ideas, here are some helpful suggestions for your first year anniversary gifts:
1. The traditional gift for first year anniversary is paper and you can give your spouse a bouquet of beautiful flowers made of paper together with a romantic note.
2. Get a first version of your partner’s favorite classic book. Better yet, find an autographed version of the book.
3. Another idea is to give him or her a personalized novel that includes both of you as the main characters. Choose a romantic story with steamy scenes in an exotic setting.
4. Get tickets to sports game, theater plays or other events that you both enjoy seeing together.
5. A second honeymoon is one of perfect first year anniversary gifts. Book your plane tickets and you can even include a poster or a postcard of your honeymoon destination.
6. You can purchase a book of love coupons, which can be a pre-made book or a custom-made one.
7. Make your partner a romantic poem and put it in a frame. Another idea is to frame the first love letter from your partner or the first Valentine’s card he or she gave you.
8. Write a romantic letter and put it in a bottle.
9. Give him or her a gift certificate to a special shop or a favorite store. Another suggestion is a gift certificate to a spa where both of you can spend a romantic and relaxing day.
10. An origami or a bouquet of flowers can definitely make a statement. And make sure to write down the reasons you love him or her on each flower.
11. A romantic scrapbook is perfect for your first anniversary. Put together your sweet pictures together and include your personal thoughts, romantic quotes and your feelings about your first year together.
12. Have a blown-up copy of your favorite photograph of your wedding, frame it and display it in your preferred spot in the house.
13. You can turn your favorite photo together into a funny and unique caricature. If you are artistic enough, you can do it yourself or you can ask a friend of yours to do the caricature. Aside from caricature, you can also do oil or a watercolor painting or a hand-drawn sketch.
14. It is best to keep a record throughout the first year of your marriage and put your emotions, thoughts and feelings during the trials and adventures you experience. Give this diary to your partner on your first anniversary.
15. Aside from gifts that are associated with paper, you can also give your loved one a crystal clock.
16. For men, a watch with a sports team design or a tech watch is a perfect gift while for women, a dressy watch that goes well with an evening wear is a good idea.
17. If you want to add a bit of class in your gift, a pendant watch for her and a pocket watch for him.
